How do we collect information from you? We obtain information about you:
If you place an order on the Compare and Recycle website, the personal information we collect about you includes your name, email address, IP address, phone number, home address. We also collect your bank details if you select instant payment.
If you place an order on Compare and Recycle, we will collect your bank details and pass them over to our third-party recycling merchants for payment, and these will be deleted from our system once they have been passed over. Your personal information will be retained to assist with any support queries for 12 months, this will then be deleted from the system.
If you have requested to receive marketing from us we will retain your email address 36 months, we will send you regular emails, and if there has been inaction for the entirety of the period we will remove your data from our marketing list.
We also collect anonymised data about the way that you use the website, what pages you visit, how you enter the site and various other metrics, these cannot be identified back to you in any way, but are collected to help us improve the functionality of the website.

On the orders that Compare and Recycle handle on-site, you will provide us with the details we need for the transaction to take place. These details will then be processed and sent through to your selected Merchant. The personal information you provide will follow our retention policy so we can assist with support queries.
If you choose to have an instant payment into your bank account, you will need to provide your bank details. These will be processed and sent through to the Merchant so when they have cleared the order for payment, they can complete the transaction with payment into your bank account. Compare and Recycle delete your bank details after sending them through to the merchant. We will not sell your information to third parties and not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
You have a choice about whether you want to receive marketing newsletters from us. You can change your mind about your marketing preferences at any time by emailing us at contact@compareandrecycle.co.uk.
